Sm folio, 189 p., rebound in library buckram with original wraps bound in, with outer wrap dated 1923, title page dated 1925, and date of 8/28/29 in type along bottom of title page. First edition in English of this scarce monograph on the evolution of military tactics employed by both France and Germany during WWI. Lucas' work was met enthusiastically upon publication, particularly in France, where it went through no less than four editions, the last published in 1932. Library pocket to car paste down, ;library bookplate to fpep, with previous owner's signature and address to fep; corn of spine bumped, with chafing to wrap along gutter, but a VG copy overall.
