1st Edition 1877. Bernhard Tauchnitz Edition, Volume 1645 of the Tauchnitz Collection of British Authors. The Tauchnitz edition was reprinted at later dates without changing the publication date. On the verso of the half-title a list of all Jane Austen's main works in the Tauchnitz edition, of which Emma was first issued only in 1877 - see E48. Bound in a Victorian calf leather with hand marbled boards. Armorial bookplate of Claud E. Stracey to front pastedown and a newspaper cutting of Jane Austen pasted to recto. All overseas orders with priority shipping (8 days+) will be sent by either tracked airsure or international signed for. The slower postal rates (14 days +) will be sent by standard airmail and will take longer to arrive. We recommend to all our customers to use the priority shipping as this is a much quicker and secure method of shipment.
