About this Item
RARE FIRST MODERN LIBRARY EDITION WITH DUST JACKET The Time of Man by Elizabeth Madox Roberts about tenant farmers of Kentucky. New York: The Modern Library, 1935. FIRST MODERN LIBRARY EDITION. Here is a hard-to-find title with a great dust jacket. Bound in blue balloon cloth (spine #7) the book is in very good condition with slight spine lean, slightly faded spine and a few marks on covers. Solid binding, gilt present, matching topstain. Contents are clean and bright with no writing in text. Copyright page states "First Modern Library Edition 1935." The dust jacket is Very Good with browned spine, chipping at extremities and "Discontinued Title" stamped on front. On the back of the dust jacket 268 titles are listed, which seems to be a common issue with this first edition - publisher must have had first edition copies left over and used jackets from later to match them. Nice DJ art! Now protected in an archival-quality dust jacket protector. HARD TO FIND FIRST MODERN LIBRARY EDITION IN DUST JACKET. **I WILL BE LISTIING OVER 400 COLLECTIBLE, RARE, OR SIGNED MODERN LIBRARY EDITIONS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS FROM 30 YEARS OF ACTIVE COLLECTING AROUND THE WORLD - PLEASE VISIT MY SELLERS PAGE TO VIEW THEM ALL**.
