1st ed., octavo, original cloth boards, top edge gilt, pp 164 plus 16 pp publisher's catalogue, pages untrimmed. A little flecking to boards, p. 19 lightly marked to corner. From the library of the Parliament of Victoria, with their shelf label on spine, and ink stamps on preliminary leaves. Very good condition. Ferguson 13828 Sir Henry Parkes (1815-1896 ) was a politician and journalist. He was the longest-serving non-consecutive Premier of New South Wales, serving five terms between 1872 and 1891. He is sometimes referred to as the 'Father of Federation'. An Emigrant's Home Letters is an edited collection of his letters to his family in 1838-43, published in 1896 by his daughter Annie.
