Strategic Bombing Survey in the preparation of further reports of a more comprehensive nature. It was possible to reconstruct much of wartime Japanese military planning and execution, and to secure reasopnably accurate statistics on Japan's economy and war production. The inspections of Japanese electric generating plants and facilities was undertaken by the Electric Power Division to determine the geneal condition and characteristics of the plants and their wartime operations; to study the effects of physical damage due to bombing; to obtain a measure of the vulnerability and recuperability; and to secure data on actual bombing results.
