NOTE: I can supply more photos of the binding, upon request. First Edition. The first edition has these words "First published in 1921" printed on the verso of the title page. There is not a date on the title page. Zachary Cope wrote the first 14 editions (published from 1921-1972) of this modern classic of surgery. The 14th edition was published when Cope was 91. Jessie Dobson wrote this appreciation of Cope's classic work: "This [work] has reached the rare distinction of still being a best seller after more than half a century and its reputation has never once declined from the high standard set in the first edition.
