[vi], 240 pp. Publisher's black cloth with red spine lettering and topstain.Near Fine with lightly foxed edges, small bump to fore edge of textblock, in an attractive unclipped dust jacket, small closed tear to top of front panel, head and tail a bit worn, heavy foxing along edges of flaps; no fading to the jacket, though, and very little of the rubbing that is commonly seen. The author's first novel, a detective mystery set in Chandler's LA that is generally well-regarded by readers and critics despite its obscurity. Huggins, after testifying to HUAC, became famous as a TV executive and screenwriter. The book inspired the 1947 film noir I Love Trouble, and parts of it would be recycled in his show 77 Sunset Strip. Seller Inventory # 140940747
