About this Item
[nice clean copy with no significant wear]. Trade PB (B&W photographs) The author was "the first writer ever allowed access throughout the shooting and editing of a [Brian] De Palma film" (BODY DOUBLE), and through firsthand observation and extensive interviews "has produced an illuminating study of moviemaking that is also a skillful portrait of the glare and glitter that characterize Hollywood today." ("Today," of course, now being a mere 40 years ago.) This was Dworkin's second foray into the "making of" genre of film books, following her highly-regarded 1983 study "Making TOOTSIE"; she has gone on to a significant career as an author and playwright -- but weirdly does not list this book among her works on her official website.
