About this Item
This VG quality possible first printing 155 page book was published by G. P. Putnam & Sons in 1931; it is the fourth of four books of real life adventures by this young author. It is square, clean, free of edge dings with all four corners very lightly bumped with no fabric damage, only slight color loss; the head and heel of the spine are creased with no fabric damage, just a little color loss; the bottom edges and both bottom corners have a slight amount of wear, though there is a little wear at the bottom of the spine with some color loss at the bottom of both gutter ridges. Both hinges are strong, undamaged and intact. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and paper damage of any type. The paper has very slight toning and is quite flexible. There are numerous photographs interspersed with the text. The VG- quality jacket has a slightly faded spine, a single short tear at the top of the rear gutter, and wear along the front fold. In addition, there are small chips at all four corners and at the head and heel of the spine and several small edge chips at the top of the front panel. This is one of a series of books published by Putnam in the 1920's and 1930 \'s written by teen-aged boys going on amazing adventures all over the world. They are, invariably, rather good reading and are well illustrated with photographs. David, now 18 years old, a 6-foot-three inch tall, pipe smoking second in command young man describes his experiences on a voyage to retrace the route pioneered by Leif Ericsson in 1000 AD. Google "David Binney Putnam"--he had an amazing life!. Seller Inventory # BMR-2020-5-23-7
