Two volume set. 22.5 x 14.5 cm. Octavo. 320pp, 304pp. Bound in full green leather with gilt embellishments. Originally issued in monthly parts, this being the whole series bound together into two volumes. Complete with 20 color illustrations by John Leech, 10 in each volume as well as hundreds of in-text wood engravings. The first issue, with half-titles printed in red. Two previous owner's bookplates on front endpapers. Some fading to spine. Part of the original cloth covers are bound into the rear. Front gutter of volume 1 starting.
