First edition, first impression. Octavo, pp 256. Bound in black cloth covered hard boards with green lettering to spine and upper board. Previous owner's bookplate to the front paste-down and a small ink stamp from Aurora Book Co., Penang to the ffep. Otherwise clean inside, boards are clean and bright, light spotting to the edges only, overall in Very Good Plus condition. Maurice Dekobra was the pen name of French novelist Ernest-Maurice Tessier (1885-1973) who was a popular novelist between the wars in France and internationally. This book was originally published in French as 'Madame Joli-Supplice'. Quite uncommon. Seller Inventory # X717
