About this Item
Volume Two, Nunber three---the eleventh issue--- of long-running independent music, art and literary magazine Chemical Imbalance, a true miscellany edited and published through several volumes and issues over the course of a decade beginning in the mid-1980s in Miami, FL. The original intention of being a conduit for everything from free jazz, Church of the Subgenius, alternative comics, punk, art criticism and occasional poetry that persisted and carved out a model for what would later become the editor's Yeti magazine and Maggot Brain. This magazine eventually relocated to New York City. This issue features an extensive contemporary book review section of rene ricard, clr james, bruce benderson, as well as other poetry, transgressive and newly translated surrealist works; essay on Roger Gilbert-Lecomte by the great Artaud translator and storyteller David Rattray; in memoriam Harry Smith by William Breeze; interview with cover illustrator Raymond Pettibon by McGonigal; poems by Hans Arp, Tim Dlugos, more; underground comix; interview with Dennis Cooper by David Aaron Clark; so much more in this packed magazine. Very good condition, very lightly worn, some soiling and scuffing to wraps, some toning to covers and text block, a few small creases to corners Saddle-stapled offset printed quarto in pictorial wraps, 138 pp. Seller Inventory # 2473
