Catalogue of a seminal exhibition organized jointly by the Jingdezhen Institute of Ceramic Archaeology and the University of Hong Kong Fung Ping Shan Museum. A total of 357 objects - including many large shards, foot rims, bases with potters' marks, etc. - excavated from Jingdezhen kiln sites are illustrated in 240 colour plates and described in bilingual Chinese and English. The excavations covered the period from the Five Dynasties through to the Ming, although the primary focus are the products of the Song and Yuan. Includes an essay by Prof. Liu Xinyuan, who oversaw the excavations, on the kiln sites and their central place in the history of Chinese ceramics.
