Blue cloth with gilt lettering. Light sunning to spine and edges. Tips of corners bumped. Map decorated endpapers. Text is clean and bright, lightly and evenly tanned. Price clipped DJ shows small chips and closed tears to head and heel of spine, rubbing and creasing to edges. Blurbs by Carl Van Doren and H.G. Wells to the cover. The last six pages of the text have never been cut, so the book has either never been read, or at the least, never finished. "The story is built around the efforts of a halfcaste, the son of a white man and a bush woman, to win a place for himself. It is intensely interesting, bursting with life, tough, full of humor and violence, and provides as authentic a picture of Australian frontier life as has ever been made available."
