About this Item
String-tied tan pictorial wrappers. 8vo. 8pp. Very early promotional catalog for this farm machinery. The first four pages describe the first National Field Trial of Mowers and Reapers in 1866 in Auburn, N.Y. in which the Buckeye took first place. There are two pages of engravings showing various parts for the No. 1 and No. 2 mowers along with price lists. The inside rear cover features an illustrated ad for the Bay State Horse Rake and there is a nice engraving on the rear cover titled "Cutting out a Ditch". This is a worn copy with some chipping to the spine and with the upper corner creased on the front and back wrappers. The text is browned with a few creased corners and some light staining to the upper portion of a few pages but is in otherwise good condition. Scarce. Seller Inventory # 9494
