Not dated. Originally published in 1881, possibly a slightly later edition about 1885-1890. 256pp + 16pp catalogue to rear. Fair/None. Decorative blue cloth boards with some rubbing to edges/spine, spine faded, some mottling to boards. Contents generally clean and tight with some spotting/browning. Prize label inside front cover. B&W plates. Novel set during the tragic outbreak of bubonic plague in the Derbyshire village of Eyam in 1665-66. When plague broke out in the village in 1665 the villagers decided to isolate themselves from the outside world to prevent the fatal disease from spreading. A large proportion of the villagers died as a result of the terrible illness. Seller Inventory # 007324
