This VG+ quality first printing 144 page book was published by G. P. Putnam & Sons in autumn, 1930. It is square, extremely clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are lightly bumped with no fabric damage, just slight color loss; the bottom edges and both bottom corners have only a very slight amount of wear. Both hinges are strong, undamaged and intact. Except for an inked 1930 inscription on the blank page following the FFEP, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and paper damage of any type. The paper has very slight toning and is quite flexible. There are numerous photographs interspersed with the text. The VG+ quality jacket has a slightly faded spine and modest soiling, particularly on the rear panel. It has no significant chips and only one tear, a 1-inch tear at the heel of the front gutter. This is one of a series of books published by Putnam in the 1920's and 1930's written by teen-aged boys going on amazing adventures all over the world. They are, invariably, rather good reading and are well illustrated with photographs.
