Bonjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagan Translated from the French by Irene Ash, E.P. Dutton and Company, New York, 1955, 128 pp, red cloth with original dust jacket, 8 x 5.5 , 8vo. In good condition. Dust jacket is slightly chipped at corners and edges. Small tears to edges with light dampness staining to bottom edge of rear cover. Rear cover lightly toned and scuffed. Chipped end bands. Unclipped. Wrapped in a removable Mylar cover. Red cloth nicely preserved with minor scuffs to edges. Vintage hand gift inscription dated 1955 on pastedown. A few smudge marks to margins of text. Interior lightly toned, mostly bright! Free of known markings. Binding intact. A sound copy. Please see photos. 1st American edition. Françoise Sagan (1935-2004) was a French playwright, novelist, and screenwriter. Sagan was known for works with strong romantic themes involving wealthy and disillusioned bourgeois characters.
