First Edition (NAP, SD, 'Published September, 1915'). Very rare first edition. I couldn't find another First Edition for sale anywhere on the Internet. This centenarian plus book in very nice condition. You can see the blue covers in the photographs provided. Also the bright gilt lettering and design on the front and spine. The covers are quite clean. So are the page edges. The covers edges are in very good condition. The corners have only tiny points of light rubbing. There is a little bit of wear, creasing, at the spine ends. The book is solidly bound. I saw only one instance where there was the thinnest bit of space between two facing pages. The covers are perfectly bound, no spaces, no cracks. There are four 'Illustrations From Portraits', including the frontispiece. They are in nice condition. There's just a little bit of foxing at the top margin of a few. The text pages facing the illustrations, including the title page, show a little more, darkening at their margins. This margin darkening appears limited to these text pages across from the four illustrations. The pages are in quite decent condition. I didn't see any creasing or dogeared corners. They are quite clean. I saw only a few instances of a spot of soiling or light stain on the margin of the page. There are no markings in this book. The only attachment is a tiny blue bookseller label off the bottom edge of the rear cover. It says 'Brentano's, Booksellers & Stationers, New York'. Finally, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in this book. Seller Inventory # 001960
