A fine copy in near fine wrapper. Probably the rarest O'brian item to come to light. Putnams published in the UK and the US. They normally in the case of UK authors printed a certain amount of sheets allocating so many for the US market and the cheap edition . So the US edition would be identical to the UK but have its own wrapper.This copy has red top edge and is marked sample copy .I have never seen another US edition so my thoughts are that for reasons unknown there was no US edition and all we have is this sample copy.
