About this Item
This is a new edition UK hardcover of this title published by T. Nelson and Sons in 1870. The photos show the condition better than I can describe, however overall I am grading as Very Good condition for its age. The book has a straight spine with sharp corners. The spine ends are softened but there is a piece missing from the top of the spine (see photo). Its red boards are bright overall but a bit grubby. The page edges and end papers are toned but the interior text is clean. There is a neat gift inscription dated 12 Sept. 1896 to the front end paper. The binding is tight although the seam is beginning to fray at the front and end papers where they meet the boards. The text block is still firmly attached to the boards though. The title page states this is a new edition, revised, and has 210 illustrations by Giacomelli. Seller Inventory # 015741

Store Description
All books in my store are my own and in my possession. I expect customers to read my listings fully and look at all photos and be aware of the terms. I will work with everyone to resolve issues but I expect the same courtesy back - if I don't reply to an email within 24 hours it means I haven't received it so you'll need to resend.
I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. I do NOT offer cheap shipping and add it to the book price so please do not complain to me that Bob down the road offers cheaper postage. Sure he does - but the price of his book is hiked to reclaim it, or you're referring to a power seller who can negotiate postage discounts. I can't - I'm a private individual selling my private collection. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. Tracking is NOT provided automatically on UK parcels - you have to choose priority mail AND pay an additional £7 postage on top.
