A finely and privately printed transcript of an evening (April 17, 1983 on the University of Southern California campus) of memories and first hand stories of working with Edgar Bergen, Charlie McCarthy, and Mortimer Snerd. There were 14 tribute speakers listed plus Hal Kantor, who served as Program Host . The speakers included actors and family such as Patricia Neal, Dorothy Lamour, Ted Knight, Dale Evans, Candice Bergen, Frances Bergen, Ricardo Montalban, and Eddie Albert. Edgar John Bergen (born Edgar John Berggren, 1903?1978) was an American actor, comedian and radio performer, best known for his proficiency in ventriloquism and his characters Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd. Stanley E. Musgrove (1924-1986) was a TV producer and writer, who graduated from USC's School of Cinema-Television in 1947. He served for 20 years as President of the Friends of the USC Libraries and was responsible for dinners honoring such entertainment celebrities as Edgar Bergen, Cole Porter, George Cukor, Moss Hart and Louis Armstrong. A near fine soft cover in aqua wraps. Minor shelf wear at edges. Interior tight, clean and unmarked. The event was planned to benefit the Friends of the USC Libraries.
