A Near Fine Book in a Near Fine or slightly worse Dust Jacket, Unclipped (Seven and Six Pence). A beautifully fresh book with mild shelf wear to extremities. Text block is slightly toned and a few instances of soiling are present. Binding is tight and square and text is clean internally. Dust jacket presents beautifully, although somewhat rubbed at extremities, resulting in some chipping to corners, tail and crown. Spine is moderately toned. Trace soiling present to the bottom of the front panel. Jacket designed by Gabriel Atkin. Hardcover. Small Octavo. 313pp. A truly stunning copy of Pre-Tolkein Fantastical Literature. Butts mixed a World War I narrative with the occult for an enduring and foundational novel. Author was a collaborator with Aleister Crowley and corresponded with T.S. Eliot. .
