About this Item
The Ascent Of Everest, John Hunt, Hodder & Stoughton, 1953, First Edition, First Impression John Hunt was the Expedition leader of the first ascent of Mount Everest's summit by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and this book is his account of that trip. The book is illustrated throughout with both colour and black and white photographs. In very good condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is some lightening to the spine. The slightly toned end papers and pages are free from tears and inscriptions. There is a slight scuff mark to the front end paper and foxing to the fore edge. The top edge retains its original green tint. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in good condition with loss to the corners, a small tear to the corner of the front cover, loss to the top edge of the spine, shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine and nibbling to the top edge of the slightly darkened back cover, Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
