About this Item
Quarto. First printing, limited to 300 copies signed by the author. The present copy is #31. 141 pages. Illustrated with photographic images. While Daniel Herman's Hell on the Range remains the single most important book on the conflictt known as "the Pleasant Valley War", Hatchett, like Dedera and Forrest, is a frequent source of this important work. The publishers write: "Pleasant Valley, Arizona in the 1880's was no place for the faint of heat. In less than one hundred days, thirteen men lose their lives. These were not Hollywood style, face to face shootouts. The attacks were almost always surprise or from ambush." The maps are very important, and the book's layout allows the reader to see the overall picture better than any of its predecessors. A fine copy bound in brown leather like cloth, spine lettering gilt, in a fine pictorial dust jacket. Seller Inventory # 028922
