Title in red, within architectural border containing portrait of Andrea Alciati from his Emblemata, Paris, 1602. Pages [97]-279 are "A bibliographical catalogve of the variovs editions of the books of emblems of Andrea Alciati." The bibliography describes 179 editions, providing the following information: l. Title, transcribed line for line; 2. "Collation copy" described, and references to libraries containing copy; 3. Size; 4. Register; 5. Contents; 6. Emblems, devices and artists; 7. General remarks.
