First hardcover edition, with dust jacket, published by Rupert-Hart Davis, 1969. This is the first UK hardcover edition. The third in the Pollard and Toye series. In this one, they investigate the discovery of a skeleton in a dumped car in the secluded rural village of Twiggadon. 190 pages, 5-1/2" X 8". The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped - original price of £1.50 is printed on the bottom corner of the front flap. Bright red cloth covered boards, with the title in gold on the spine. Cover boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or worn, no edge wear. Binding is tight and square. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Edges of the text block are clean.
