Apparent First Edition (SD). Frontispiece drawing of Lincoln. Sixteen other illustrations including a map, most of the illustrations are photographs. 36 pages in total. Loose at the back of the book is a four-sided facsimile letter from Lincoln (see photos). You can see the covers of the book in the photos. They are in nice condition. The gilt lettering on the front is quite bright. The spine is, I think, a tweed fabric, or something like that. It's in very nice shape. There's a small white spot at the front top edge, a little indent at each of the bottom edges. The edges are otherwise in excellent shape. There are only very small spots of rubbing at each of the four corners. The spine looks pretty straight. The text pages are all nicely, solidly bound. The covers are solidly bound as well. The first of two front end papers is detached, a strip of it remains at the juncture between the front inside cover and the second blank front end paper. There also two rear end papers, both are solidly attached. There is a little bit of wear at the juncture between the rear inside cover and rear end paper, but only two small spots along it where there is a little loss, one showing a little webbing. The pages are in very nice condition. The frontispiece and all the illustrations are very clean and don't seem to have any wear on them. That accurately describes the text pages as well. There are no placeholder creases, no dog-eared corners. There are no markings. No attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. Seller Inventory # 005050
