Dear Mr. Montagu-Nathan,/ I fear you will think me a most churlish fellow/ for not having acknowledged your long and amusing letter/ of February 5th before this./ The trouble is that it was so amusing that I/ took it down to the Editor of the "Sunday Graphic" and/ suggested that he might use a portion of it as a special/ entertainment feature article; but, unfortunately, he/ had no space to do so, and so many matters have to go on/ my own Page that I could not possibly have done justice/ to your wit by quoting only a few sentences of it/./ The result of this endeavour on my part was that/ your letter remained in the pocket of a suit, which I have/ not worn from that day to this; and it is only now that/ I have come upon your script again./ Please accept my apologies for the delay in/ replying to you and my thanks for a grand laugh which/ you gave to all of use who saw your letter./ Yours very sincerely, Dennis Wheatley (signed).
