The binding is bumped along the edges and moderately worn. There is some scuffing to the binding, especially to the back cover, but overall it has a nice patina. All edges gilt. The end papers are darkened and there is sporadic foxing throughout the text. Includes a folding facsimile letter showing Byron's writing and signature (the letter and signature are a facsimile and are not his actual writing). Engraved frontispiece; no other illustrations.

And 8 BW full-page engravings appear scattered throughout the text, illustrating some of the characters featured in Byron's poems. A terrific resource, and still quite handsome. VG- (Moderate wear to outer edges, esp. along spine; book is tightly intact; only a few soil marks on a few interior pages; engraving pages have lightly shadowed adjacent pages; overall a lovely book.).

Innen Seiten teils etwas fleckig oder stockfleckig, einige Seiten angeknickt. Das schöne Porträtkupfer Byrons von guter Erhaltung, die beiden anderen Kupfertafeln teils etwas stockfleckig. Externally smart with fading and marks to the boards and spine, bumping and wear to the extremities, a small closed tear to the head of the front joint and very small damp stains to the tail of the spine. Unnamed bookplate to the front pastedown with handling marks and spotting to the endpapers. Internally generally firmly bound with lightly age toned pages and spotting throughout.
