Sharp First Edition of this endearing tale of a poor family living on barge in West London and trying to make a better life for themselves. Bound in green cloth with titles in blue on front board and spine. Square, tight and generally clean throughout save some moderate scattered foxing on the prelims and the outer page edges. No interior toning. Some toning spots to rear board and light soiling to spine panel. Equally attractive unclipped dust-jacket, (7/6 net on the spine panel), has very minor edge-wear and rubbing to folds. Fresh and bright with no chipping, tears, creases and little toning. Uncommonly signed by the author on the title page. A pretty collectable copy.
