No inscriptions, very small slight erasure to front endpaper, otherwise a Fine crisp copy (no dustwrapper issued). Gerrard (b. Lancashire 1935) trained at Salford School of Art. In 1979 he gave up teaching to paint full time. His second book The Favershams (1982) won the New York Times Best Illustrated children's book of the year in 1982 and the Bologna Children's Book Fair prize in 1983.
