First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First edition. Foreword by C.G. Jung. Illustrated by Julio Escamez. Translated from the Spanish by Frank MacShane. Tan cloth. Light offsetting on endpapers, slight foxing on the topedge, very good or better in a very good dust jacket with moderate rubbing and edgewear, and a few small chips on the front panel. Inscribed by Serrano on the half-title: "To Prof. Cohen, this symbol which has grown during my year in India[?]. Miguel Serrano. New Delhi 12th. November 1960." Serrano was a Chilean diplomat, occultist, and a prominent figure in the neo-Nazi movement. In 1942 he joined an esoteric order that combined kundalini yoga and ceremonial magic, and believed that Adolf Hitler was the savior of the Aryan race. He later termed his philosophy Esoteric Hitlerism, which he has described as a new religious faith "able to change the materialistic man of today into a new idealistic hero." Notable adherents include: Savitri Devi, Robert Charroux, and David Myatt. In the foreword to this book, the only time Jung presented a purely literary work, he states: "It is dreams within dreams. The poetic genius has transformed the primordial material into almost musical shapes. ." Signed works by Serrano appear to be very uncommon.
