Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. This First Edition hardback was published in the UK in 2000 by Palgrave Macmillan. The ABE Stock Image photograph is not accurate for this copy. The condition of the book is better than 'Very Good', but the original owner folded down circa 12 page corners to mark her place and made quite a few lightly pencilled comments on parts of some text pages. I have carefully gone through the book erasing the pencilled comments but there may still be traces for the keen-eyed reader. The dust-jacket is in 'Near Fine' condition. The book is bound with black binding paper on stiff boards. The spine titles are in bright gilt. The publisher has chosen good quality paper for this book - it has not aged at all and is still fresh looking. The book has 176 numbered pages. The size of the book in inches is 8.8 x 5.6 and it weighs 0.40 kg. As with all our sales of books within the UK, we only ever charge a flat standard delivery cost of £3.35.

Buch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Although marginal and often neglected genres, the sketch and the essay represented for Virginia Woolf the two forms of writing through which she articulated her understanding of the workings of literary history. In this innovative study, Elena Gualtieri analyses in detail the intersection between essays and sketches in Woolf's non-fiction as part of a far-reaching argument about the scopes and models of feminist criticism, its understanding of the historical process and its position in the panorama of twentieth-century intellectual history.
