Dust Jacket Condition: G. 120 pp, b/w frontis photo of the Stone Mountain, the book and contents are solid and tight, the pages have a damp stain on the upper edges ranging from 1/4" to 1/2" deep, the covers are clean with exception of the top rear cover edgethat has been chewed by some bug or rodent, dust jacket has the same chewing on the upper edge and has a 1/2" square price tag pull, this is a solid and usable book.

Gray cloth hardcover with blue title on the front cover and spine. Illustrated dust jacket with title and narrative on the front cover. Light wear to the jacket extremities. Toning to the front and rear end sheets and title page. Interior contents very clean. Contents cover the story of Confederate memorial at Stone Mountain just east of Atlanta, Georgia. Inscribed and signed by the author on the half title page.

Photo of Gutzon Borglum attached to the front paste down. Gray cloth covered boards with navy blue text stamped on front panel and spine. Upper external page edges are tinted. Boards are lightly soiled overall. Board spine is sunned and soiled. Edges at head and tail of board spine are creased; tail of spine has two tiny nicks and beginning of fraying. Lower fore-edge corner tips are just rubbed through. Outside page edges are somewhat age darkened. Back free end paper has scuff along lower edge; back paste down has a 1" closed tear adjacent to the gutter. Text block is a bit shaken but holding. Dust jacket is soiled overall. Dust jacket spine is sunned. Fore-edge folds are rubbed and creased. Upper edge of front panel has loss of 1" by up to 3/16" in the upper right corner. Several additional small losses from rubs and chips on fore-edge corners and along upper and lower edges. Front corner at tail of jacket spine has a 7/8" closed vertical tear with old tape repair on reverse side; the back corner of jacket spine has an additional old tape repair to stabilize a 3/8" closed vertical tear and several chips. Upper edge of front panel has a 1/2" closed vertical tear in the upper left corner; old tape repair on reverse side has stabilized it as well as the several chips and rubs at the head of jacket spine.
