Hard Cover in Dust Jacket. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition, First Printing. First edition stated. A very nice copy in collector's condition--tight, bright and clean; price-clipped. A wonderfully creative and moving piece of literature, the book takes the form of a young girl's diary, beginning with JFK's assassination in 1963, and concluding with the murder of Martin Luther King in 1968. The girl, Trixie, was 13 years old, and black. Graves has said that he had never felt so driven to write, and as he started the book tears streamed down his face, and his handwriting was Trixie's, sincere but only semi-literate. An important and relatively scarce work.
