Second impression from April 1962 - the book was first published by Chatto earlier in the same month. The boards have a little light discolouration to the edges and there is a small dent in the bottom edge of the rear panel. Light browning to the page edges with a small crease to the top corner of one page. Some brown spotting to the endpapers and the pages are a little browned. Previous owner's name in pen to the front free endpaper. A few light spots here and there but the pages are otherwise unmarked. The jacket has a half inch chip at the top of the spine and a one inch chip at the bottom of the spine which is darkened. Light chipping to the corners. Small closed tear to the top edge of the rear panel which is browned with some scattered staining. Jacket illustration by F.R. Exell. Signed by Author(s).
