First Edition
First edition, first printing. Original navy blue cloth with titles in red and gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated with black and white photographs. A very good copy, the binding square, the the inner front hinge a little cracked but firm, the board edges slightly rubbed. The contents, the text block just slightly dustmarked and a tiny bit of offsetting to the front free endpaper, are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the rubbed, nicked, and creased dustwrapper which has two short closed tears to the top of the front panel and another two short closed tears to the top of the rear panel. Not price-clipped (£5.95 to the front flap). This biography is the first to make extensive use of the unpublished private papers of Wells. It also draws upon the personal recollections of those who knew Wells intimately. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
