First Edition Signed
First edition. First edition. Generic inscription on the pastedown sheet completely covered by the dust jacket flap "Best wishes from the author. Jonathan Gash," and signed by the author on the title page. Page edges uniformly tanned, else fine, bright copy in dust jacket with the faint, but readable words at the lower portion of the spine "Signed by the author." This condition caused by a label being placed on the transparent dust jacket and through exposure to light has imprinted the words on the spine. After one antiques dealer is murdered, another drowned, and a third vanishes, Lovejoy thinks it wise to leave East Anglia quickly. On the trail of some rare antiques, he finds himself in Scotland, masquerading as a distant cousin of the Clan McGunn and takes up residence as the clan's forger. Before long he finds himself in one of the biggest scams of his career.

Book First Edition Signed
All books are signed and inscribed by Jonathan Gash to his friends good Roy and Pat. Five of the twelve volumes are double signed (additionally on the title page without dedication). Most are signed on the date of publication. This is perhaps the best inscribed set of these books available for purchase in the last decade. Twelves volumes in total. Original red boards, titles to spines gilt. With the dust jackets. An excellent set in the dust jackets some neatly clipped. First editions, first impressions. The first twelve books in the Lovejoy detective series. A vastly underrated series of mystery novels which replicate the first TV series starring Ian McShane; hard-hitting and brutal in nature. Whilst the TV series became more light hearted, the novels stand as a gritty canon and a really good read.
