Seven centuries of English gastronomy, its evolution, assimilation of foreign influences, with recipes, many provided in their original form followed by a modern interpretation. Edited by Arabella Boxer. Illustrated with b/w drawings. Appendix and Index. Red cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Covers show some edge wear, light wear at top & tail of spine. Dust Jacket shows discoloration and foxing at top, edge wear, bumping, wear at top & tail of spine, price sticker on front inner flap, sunning to flaps. Previous owner's notations below inscription on free front endpaper; discoloration to two pages where news clippings (on McKendry) were laid in. Clippings (1974) are included. Other than as noted interior is clean and unmarked. Pages are crisp. Binding is tight. 240 pp. Approx. 7" x 10". Carefully shipped in secure parcel. Ask all questions; glad to respond.
