This addition to the Lutterworth Press series on famous men covers the life of the pair responsible for the most respected brand in British motoring, Charles Rolls and Henry Royce. They came from different family backgrounds --- Rolls from the landed gentry and Royce from a milling family in Lincolnshire. This biography traces their association leading to the Rolls-Royce car --- the choice of royalty, the rich and the famous. Woven into the personal lives and character of the two men is the story of the early days of motoring. While apparently written for the young adult reader the book contains much of interest about the two men and their work. This an ex-library copy. 130 pages, six full page b/w sketches by Martin Henley.
