Hardcover. 343 pgs. Hardcover, gray cloth with some age to spine area, which shows as brown line at gutters. Still soundly bound, and not marked within, First thus issue, with this reprint publisher. This novel has the same themes as "All Quiet.", but deals with the scenes of retreat from battle. Much true-to-life dialogue and scene settings, and a great companion to the more famous work. No jacket, red top-stain, gray cloth solid binding. Cloth has a subtle cross-hatch pattern. Small white stain on rear board, about 1.5 inch x .5 in. Very good condition (no dust jacket). First thus edition, issue dated 1931, which was also the date of 1st issue in Germany. US imprints info shows both 1930 and 1931, this being the latter issue.
