Hardcover. First edition, stated. 8vo., 254 pgs. An ex-library copy of the book, with stamps, pocket, glued flaps, but no catalog marks on spine. We've removed the library glassine, and the book looks very crisp despite its origin. This was the last of the author's books, nearly completed at his death. It treats, fictionally, the writer's struggles with alcoholism, mirrored in several characters of different backgrounds and circumstances. He warns us about the underlying facts of the novel and hallucinations described: "all facts are real; ladies and gentlemen, it's true." Very good x-library condition in very good, clean dust jacket.
