This VG- quality second format book was copyrighted in 1910 and was published by the Henry Altemus Company; it is 7-9/16" tall with 256 numbered pages of text followed by 16 unnumbered pages of ads. This book is square, very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are bumped with some wear but no fraying; the bottom edges have a moderate amount of wear though the lower front corner does have some extra wear. The spine is clean and all the lettering and the image are bright and intact; the front image in dark blue (which makes this a format #2) is very clean and has very little wear. Except for a penciled name/address/date ("March 9, 1932") on the FFEP, and a similar entry reverse side up on the RFEP (with a sibling's name, perhaps) the interior is free of writing, stray marks and paper damage of any type; there are small stains on the bottoms on pages 117-127 (it looks like someone smashed a chocolate chip in the book). Both hinges are quite strong and not damaged in any fashion. The text paper is very slightly toned and the paper remains extremely flexible. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. It has a frontis + 3 on plain paper. The list at the rear of the book lists all 12 titles in this series. The VG- quality jacket is reasonably clean with a small chips at both top corners with wear along the lower front fold. There are tiny chips at the heel of the spine with slightly larger chips at the head; there are folds at the lower front corner. The book list on the back panel lists all 12 titles in this series.
