Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Performance-based contracting for the management and maintenance of road networks is a new concept designed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of road maintenance operations. It should ensure that the physical condition of the roads under contract is adequate for the need of road users, over the entire period of the contract which is normally several years. Performance Contracts are defining a product and it is up to the contractor how to achieve this. Therefore, work selection, design and delivery are all his responsibility. Hence, the choice and application of technology and the pursuit of innovative materials, processes and management are all up to the contractor. This allocates higher risk to the Contractor compared to traditional contract arrangements, but at the same time opens up opportunities to increase his margins where improved efficiencies and effectiveness of design, process, technology or management are able to reduce the cost of achieving the specified performance standards.Current best-practice techniques in outsourcing rely on output and performance-based contracts. 96 pp. Englisch.

Book
Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Traditional contracting is primarily transactional, rewarding contractors when deliveries are made or certain process milestones are met. Performance-Based Logistic (PBL) contracting seeks to base contractor incentives on ongoing performance measures to achieve reliability and cost savings. Key to the success of these arrangements are the incentives that align the interests of the customer and the vendor. This report describes the incentives used in PBL contracts, identifies best practices, and provides recommendations for effective incentives going forward. The study team interviewed PBL practitioners including defense-unique contractors, defense-commercial contractors, and experts who are knowledgeable in the government perspective in the United States and abroad. The team supplemented these interviews by analyzing a PBL dataset of U.S. Department of Defense contracts. Of the four identified categories of incentivestime-based, financial, scope, and otherinterviews found that time-based incentives stood out for their reliable appeal and relative underuse in the United States. This report describes the incentives used in performance-based logistic contracts, identifies best practices, and provides recommendations for effective incentives going forward.
