On front end paper is the Surrealist bookplate of Andrew Murray. Dust wrapper is price clipped. Loosely inserted is The Scottish Arts Council label for an exhibition, in which this copy was lent for. Fine copy. Size 21 x 15.5cm (8 x 6 inches) Old Nurse would sit down by their bedside, take her stocking-basket and, while she was threading the needle with the right coloured wool, searched her memory for a tale to fit the hole . Provenance: Andrew Murray, Director of Mayor Gallery, Cork Street, London. The Mayor Gallery exhibited Ardizzone s work in the 1960 s. Andrew Murray lent his personal collection of books and prints etc. to the travelling exhibition by Middlesbrough Museum in 1982.
