In 8° (16,5x9 cm); 6 volumi: (4), CIV, 412, (2 b.) pp., (4), XVI, 488, (2 b.) pp., (4), XIV, (2 b.), 475, (3 b.) pp. (un leggerissimo alone, praticamente ininfluente), (4), IV, 392, (2 b.) pp., (6), 416, (2 b.) pp., (4), 492, (2 b.) pp. (un leggerissimo ed ininfluente alone in metà volume). Belle legature omogenee in piena pelle maculata. Tagli rossi. Dorso a 5 nervi con titolo, numero del volume e ricchi fregi in oro ai tasselli. Qualche lieve difetto ai margini di alcuni dorsi, il volume quinto presenta una spaccatura nel margine basso della cerniera del piatto anteriore (anticamente rinforzata da una pecetta). In due volumi sono venute vie le pecette sulle quali, ai dorsi era applicato il titolo dell'opera. Nel complesso esemplare in buone condizioni di conservazione, completo, dell'edizione più rara fra le prime settecentesche, delle opere del grande filosofo, giurista, storico e pensatore politico, Charles-Louis de Secondat, barone di La Brède e di Montesquieu, meglio noto solamente come Montesquieu (La Brède, 18 gennaio 1689 Parigi, 10 febbraio 1755), considerato il fondatore della teoria politica della separazione dei poteri. Il volume raccoglie tutte le opere edite di Montesquieu fino al 1761, comprese alcune opere postume. L'opera di Montesquieu rappresenta la base del pensiero moderno politico e giuridico contemporaneo. I suoi studi sono considerati come degli antesignani dell'economia politica. L'edizione qui presentata, stampata a Losanna ed ad Amsterdam, da Francois Grasset risulta notevolmente corretta ed aumentata rispetto alle precedenti raccolte delle opere dell'autore ed è sicuramente, dopo la prima edizione delle opere, l'edizione più rara in assoluto ed ancor più rara da trovarsi completa di tutti e sei i volumi.
