Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. ALFRED HITCHCOCK AND THE THREE INVESTIGATORS #23 - THE MYSTERY OF THE INVISIBLE DOG by M. V. CAREY, cover art by Robert Adragna, published by Random House, copyright 1975, 1981 First Printing (complete 1 - 9 0 numberline on copyright page, volume # printed on spine & thin paperstock (starting in 1980, Random House went to a thinner paper stock and started printing the volume number on the spine, $1.95 cover price. STILL HAS THE BOUND-IN MYSTERY QUIZ & BOOKMARK. Collecting Note - The bound-in by removable (perforated) Three Investigators bookmark and Mystery Quiz was only used in Three Investigator pbs that were printed in 1981, and therefore are only found in the following 11 1st pb printings: 13, 14, 16, 17, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 31 and 32. Due to apparent high sales of some of these particular pbs, Random House sold out of the 1st printings and issued 2nd printings that same year and these will also have the bound-in bookmark & Mystery Quiz. However, I am not aware of any of the pre-1981 pb 1sts that had a pb reprinting in 1981 that also had a bound-in bookmark & Mystery Quiz. Therefore only the aforementioned 11 pb books can be found with this feature. Also note that Random House was not consistent as to where they would place the bound-in bookmark/Mystery Quiz - sometimes it was bound-in as the first page and sometimes it was bound-in as the last page. Due to the fact that the bookmark was perforated, these books are often found with the Mystery Quiz intact, but the bookmark missing. Book has no creased page corners, no vertical spine crease, no spine lean, almost no wear to spine tips, hint of wear to left/right on spine, tight flat white pages, no former ownership markings or used bookstore stamps inside, pages not starting to age yellow at edges (VERY common defect caused by poor paper quality), no cover creases (couple of faint stress marks only), almost no color rubbing to cover, no soiling or staining to covers, rear cover is nice and clean without soiling, almost no edge wear. Overall a FINE- book of a first pb printing Three Investigators book WITH MYSTERY QUIZ & BOOKMARK. I have a number of other hardcover and paperback Three Investigator books up for sale.
