No Jacket. several folding illustrations and plates, some of them in color (illustrator). 1st Edition. 1878 first edition with bright gilt illustrations to front board and spine. Also TEG. Bookplate of Dana Jerome Blackwell to front pastedown, and Mr. Blackwell has also inscribed his name in a rather ornate style to the first blank. A small tidemark or dampstain across the top of most pages, to a maximum depth of 5/8ths inches, impinging no text. There is also some rub to edges of the spine covering, but this copy remains firmly bound. No markings aside from original owner signature on fly leaf. Boards are not of recent vintage but are in very solid shape, with negligible amount of wear to corners.
