Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good +. 1st Edition. Complete number-line. Unmarked, clean and solid copy. Illustrations bright and attractive. Crease at top corner of first page, not compromising integrity of paper. Binding firm. Top and bottom of spine very gently bumped. Some very light rubbing at corners and a tiny rubbed patch at top front cover. A few light crescent shaped impressions on back cover, not immediately apparent. Else very minimal shelf wear only. Cover remains bright and attractive. A nice reading copy in excellent condition.
Condition: Near fine. First edition, first printing of this Dr. Seuss take on the butterfly effect - the only title which Theodore Geisel wrote under the "Rosetta Stone" pen name. Cause and effect devolve into chaos in this tale of a chain reaction originating from a bug's sneeze. Theodore Geisel (AKA Dr. Seuss) teamed up with his friend and editor Michael Frith for BECAUSE A LITTLE BUG WENT KA-CHOO!, featuring that particularly Seussian combination of silly rhymes and lively artwork. This book was published in the same year that Frith joined Henson Associates as an art director, and one can certainly see the intersection of his illustrations for this title and the design of the Muppets. This is Geisel's only work under the pen name Rosetta Stone - partly inspired by the ancient artifact and partly by his second wife's maiden name, Stone. A rather scarce work in his large oeuvre. 9'' x 6.5''. Original color pictorial boards. Blue and white patterned endpapers with book synopsis. Illustrated in color. No jacket as issued. [20] leaves. Early $2.95 price sticker to front board. Binding corners and spine ends a bit bumped. Sound and bright.
